Gorgeous antique inspired blouses by Lyell. I love, love this clothing line by Emma Fletcher. Some of these images come from this season, and some are from seasons past. It doesn't really matter (unless you are looking to purchase one) because all of the designs are timeless.
So... I am looking to make a Lyell inspired blouse. I already have the lace, which was a gift from a friend. I need to find cotton batiste. Batiste is lightweight, semi-sheer, and delicate. I do not know where to look for this kind of fabric.Ideas?

Many shops, especially those specialising in smocking and heirloom sewing, carry batiste. Might I suggest Imperial batiste, as it is a poly cotton so it doesn't require nearly as much ironing, but still looks wonderfully fine. Another option is cotton lawn, also very fine and nice to work with. Some sources (no affiliation) are:

I remember seeing the cream top with the dark stitching around the neck line in Lucky Magazine a while back. I immediately fell in love. I can't wait to see what you come up with!
I have been lucky enough to find it at JoAnn's Fabrics, Hobby Lobby, and Hancocks. I even found some at Wal-mart but that was about 15 years ago.
